ARTICLE 2. PENALTIES

(a)   Persons convicted of a violation of the chapter shall be punished by a fine not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000), or by imprisonment for no more than one hundred eighty (180) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, except those in violation of Article 2-107 Cruelty to Animals or Article 2-303 Pit Bulls.

(b)   Any person convicted of a violation of Article 2-107 Cruelty to Animals or Article 2-303 Pit Bulls shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars (2,500.00) or by imprisonment for no more than one (1) year, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

(c)   Any persons convicted of violation of this chapter shall be responsible for the Court Costs in the amount of Eighty Dollars ($80.00) and any impound fees and costs associated with the maintenance of the animal.

(d)   Upon a first conviction for an At-Large animal in violation of the chapter, the fine should be not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00)

(e)   Subsequent convictions for the same violations of the chapter by the same individual, the fines shall double for each subsequent conviction.
